Ferguson slams former players for criticizing team mates

Ferguson slams former players for criticizing team matesLondon, Mar, 21 : Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson has slammed former star footballers Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker, Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson for criticizing the current string of players from the commentary box.

Ferguson said he would never take up the job of a commentator in future.

"Not a chance. Some of the ex-player, ex-manager pundits are the worst. It's a disgrace the way they sit there criticising guys they used to play with, just to make a bit of an impact. I couldn't do that," The Daily Express quoted Ferguson, as saying.

Commenting on his future, the 67 year old Man U boss said he still has the zeal to train future prospects of the game.

"My health's good. I still have the drive and the energy. I've been here more than 22 years, but I still get a buzz arriving at training," he said.

Ferguson pointed out towards the young Brazilian twins, 18-year-olds Fabio and Rafael da Silva, saying that they are the stuff to watch for in the future.

"They are something else," he said. (ANI)
