Facebook might launch its own job board this summer
World's largest social networking site, Facebook might be planning to launch its own job board this summer, according to several reports.
The new job board will combine job postings by third-party providers like BranchOut, Jobvite and Work4Labs and offer them to the users. The move does not indicate a direct entry for the into job recruiting market but it will certainly add pressure on networking sites such as LinkedIn.
Sources said that BranchOut, Jobvite, and Work4 Labs have already agreed to associate with the platform. There are some indications that the platform might be launch as early as August. Facebook has not commented on the matter and officials at BranchOut, JobVite and Work4Labs did not offer any comments.
It is not known if Facebook will integrate the postings into its users' news feed of if the postings will be displayed at a separate section of the website. The company has reportedly hired a third party developer to design the platform for the site.
Facebook had earlier launched partnership with the U. S. Labor Department and other partners to provide job-hunting resources. The new move is seen by many as an extension to that partnership.
