Experts believe they have spotted an alien mega structure in space
NASA's Kepler Space Telescope has marked an unusual star system that seems to appear as if it was built by an alien civilization, experts mentioned. Earlier, it was thought by astronomers that the star was peculiar and is caused by bad data.
The Kepler Space Telescope has been studying a small area of space for the past four years near the Lyrae and Cygnus constellations, and has lately made an unusual discovery. An abnormal star between these constellations has put investigators into deep thinking whether the phenomenon is natural or made by some clever life form.
Tabetha Boyajian, postdoctoral researcher from Yale, said, "We'd never seen anything like this star. It was really weird. We thought it might be bad data or movement on the spacecraft, but everything checked out".
The Kepler research team used the telescope to look for small drops in light emerging out of the star. It looked for these fluctuations in around 150,000 different stars in an attempt to mark planets passing by in front of them.
Unlike normal planets that create an even and continuous drop in light as they cross in front of a sun from Kepler's vantage point, this planet is unusual and has baffled researchers as it appears to be a chaos of objects surrounding the star.
The star is of a grown up age, and any naturally sprinkled material would be packed together over a period of time due to gravity.
