E-rick comes to India

E-rick comes to IndiaFinally the long wait for eco-friendly vehicle, E-rick is over in India. As Vodafone Essar along with Eco-Activate, has made an announcement to enter the Indian roads with the telecom company as its sponsoring partner.

E-rick which is powered by batteries will help in reduction of carbon footprint with zero emissions. It will also curtail the dependence on conventional fuel. The launch of this eco-friendly vehicle is made with an eye to provide pollution-free mode of transportation in the capital.

The vehicle components are made of fully recyclable polyethylene cabin which is a heavy duty modular steel frame. It also has an advanced digitally controlled electric propulsion system.

Initially E-rick will run in areas like Chandni Chowk, Saket - Press club Road, IIT - SDA Market area, GK II and Delhi University - North Campus in Delhi.

The introduction of these pollution free vehicles comes at a time of hosting of Common wealth games in the country. They were earlier spotted at number of international events, including the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, the Expo 2005 in Japan and the 2006 Football World Championship in Germany.

And with companies around the world becoming more aware of the environment concerns, the concept of such vehicles has become very popular.
