London, Jan 25, : England Cricket Players have refused to hand over their signed central contracts to England Cricket Board (ECB), until they are assured of their availability for the Twenty20 tournament next year.

Indian Premier League commissioner, Lalit Modi, said that England and Wales Cricket Board have cleared the way for its players to take part in this year's tournament by granting a 21-days window, which paved the way for the England cricketers to sign their central contracts.

Modi said that he wanted a two-year commitment from the players but they still have certain issues to sort out with ECB.

This ECB is in a difficult position to offer a commitment because, if 2010 IPL is played in its usual slot in April-May, it may clash with World Twenty20, scheduled to be played in the West Indies.

England players have asked its board to make sure the finer details and now, it's on ECB and BCCI to decide a solution of the issue, so there is not a clash for 2010. (ANI)
