Eduardo back with a double as Arsenal brush past Cardiff

Eduardo back with a double as Arsenal brush past Cardiff London  - Eduardo marked his return to first-team action with two goals on Monday as Arsenal beat Cardiff City 4-0 in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Croatia forward hadn't played since breaking his leg against Birmingham City last February.

But he started well, and after 20 minutes headed the opener from Carlos Vela's dinked cross.

Nicklas Bendtner made it 2-0 14 minutes later, heading in from a corner.

Only a handful of fine saves from Cardiff keeper Tom Heaton kept the score down.

Even then, it took a staggering miss from Bendtner to prevent Arsenal extending their lead before half-time. First he hit his shot from close range against Heaton, then struck the rebound against the post.

The third did arrive on the hour, though, Eduardo converting from the spot after being bundled over by Gavin Rae.

Robin van Persie made it four from Bendtner's through-ball with four minutes remaining.

Arsenal will be home to Burnley in the fifth round, with the winner of that game facing either Sheffield United or Hull City in the quarter-final. (dpa)
