London, August 28 : Chelsea strikere Didier Drogba has been hospitalized after suffering a head injury during the clash against Norwich. Drogba received extensive treatment from team doctors on the field after being knocked unconscious in mid-air by when Norwich goalkeeper, John Ruddy tried to clear the ball.

Drogba had a CT scan, which turned out to be clear. He was later was allowed to return home yesterday evening, The Telegraph reports. “He is showing some signs of recovery. I am very grateful to my players, the Norwich players and my medical staff for reacting so quickly to a potentially dangerous situation.

They arrived in time to bring Didier back to consciousness,” Andre Villas-Boas, the Chelsea manager was quoted, as saying. “We are waiting for the full exams on his concussion and hopefully nothing is wrong. He is showing some good signs of recovery which allows us to be a little bit more tranquil,” he added. Despite, Drogba’s injury, Chelsea registered a 3-1 win in the match. (ANI)
