Dish TV Prices Slashed Due To DTH Price War
Fierce competition from Tata Sky and entry of three more companies offering DTH (Direct to Home) services, has prompted Dish TV to slash its price by Rs2000, which means that a subscribers, can now access for the services for Rs 1990 including set top box, connection and 12 months subscription.
The company is also offering 125 channels at Rs 100 per month in response to Tata Sky’s offer of 53 channels for Rs 99 per month.
The company has also reduced the price of its free-to-air channel bouquet to Rs 60 per month from Rs 100. Though it’s a good news for the customers, the company might face losses due to the price war.
Dish TV COO Salil Kapoor said: “We want to attract new consumers through this competitive price point.” Talking about the incurring losses due the price war, Mr Kapoor said, “He did not believe it will impact the bottom line. As a company, we have managed our subscriber cost and at this point we can comfortably offer the reduced entry price point to the consumer.
