Delhi Govt. announces Rs.5 crore for Sikkim quake victims
New Delhi, Sep. 29 : Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today announced that her government would contribute Rs. 5 crore in the Prime Minister''s Relief Fund for Sikkim quake victims.
Dikshit acknowledged that there has been a substantial loss of property and lives in unprecedented earthquake in Sikkim.
"There is a need to provide all possible help and assistance to the affected persons in order to revive their normal activities. It becomes our duty to contribute in this regard. The city government has been contributing to different states during such difficult times, i. e., floods and other natural calamities," she said. (ANI)
