Dalmiya Is Back As CAB Head

Jagmohan Dalmiya is elected head of the Cricket Association of Bengal. He Dalmiya Is Back As CAB Head defeated sitting president of CAB Prasun Mukherjee at the Eden Gardens. The result of voting is not officially declared but Dalmia is expected to gain 71 votes while Mukherjee got 47 votes. The election was started at 7 pm and total of 121 eligible units cast their vote.

The panel of vice-presidents Samar Kar, Shibaji Dutta and Shib Kumar Kalyani has also recorded victory as per news reports. The members of ruling group were present in upstairs. A loyalist of Prasun Mukherjee has also arranged a party to lure members. But the attendance was quite low. The lunch scheduled on Tuesday was also cancelled.

Earlier, the annual general meeting of members was concluded amid stiff protests. The opposition members alleged financial irregularities during the IPL. The other burning topics of meeting were Bengal’s relegation from the Elite Division of the Ranji Trophy last year and the conduct of disciplinary body.

The current victory of Dalmia has paved a way to his re-entry in BCCI.
