Croatia's coach extends his contract with the team

Zagreb - Croatian media reported Friday that the national coach Slaven Bilic had extended his contract for two years after settling financial issues with officials.

Bilic's assistant Robert Prosinecki, who used to work on a volunteer basis will now be paid both for the work he has done and which he will do, while Bilic's conditions remain the same, National daily writes.

The contract will be signed officially on Wednesday, April 9, ending the months long media frenzy over Bilic's contract. The details of the contract were not disclosed.

Bilic was an important member of the Croatian team from 1994 to 1998 and finished third at the 1998 World Cup finals in France. He said earlier that he is determined to stay with Croatia until after Euro 2008.(dpa)
