Clint Eastwood To Helm Fourth Version Of 'A Star Is Born' With Beyonce Knowles
In 1937, a movie titled A Star Is Born was made with actors Janet Gaynor and Fredric March in the lead roles. Since then, the movie got two remakes in these years with first one by George Cukor in 1954 and then director Frank Pierson again remade it in 1976.
Now, after more than three decades veteran filmmaker and actor Clint Eastwood has again taken up the same project to remake it with Beyonce Knowles in the female lead role. So, we will soon get to see yet another latest version of A Star Is Born. Eastwood will also co-produce the musical film with Jon Peters, Basil Iwanyk and Billy Gerber.
Will Fetters will pen down the script of the movie, which will have a low cost budget. They have not decided on the male lead yet but shooting is likely to start during this fall. Warner Bros, which has developed this fourth version of the film, is hoping to sign Hollywood star Will Smith opposite Beyonce. Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Hamm are expected to play the possible lead actors.
This latest film will give an updated version of the love affair between a young female artist rising in her career with an alcoholic star going down.
Eastwood’s last directorial project was Hereafter starring Matt Damon in the lead role.
