London, Nov 20 - Chris Hemsworth has been named as the 'Sexiest Man Alive' of 2014 by People Magazine .

The 'Avengers' star was officially "anointed' as the winner on Jimmy Kimmel Live and asserted that he was most excited about the alive portion of that statement, and the sexy part was a bonus, the Mirror reported.

The 31-year-old actor also jokingly said that the title was based on an IQ test and not just physical appearance adding that he would like to thank his parents for "putting this together".

Hemsworth, who plays Thor in 'Avengers' movie credited his win to Matt Damon saying that he learned everything there was about being sexy from Damon.

Hemsworth has taken the title from Maroon 5 star Adam Levine who was named ' Sexiest Man Alive' in 2013. (ANI)
