Chocolate Addicts Gets Reason to Smile, It Reduces Heart and Diabetes Risk: Study
Chocolates are the favorites of many, and now they have a reason to eat them as their intake can help reducing risk of heart diseases and diabetics, claims a research published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ).
The researchers of the University of Cambridge examined different studies notifying the effects of the link between chocolates and diseases. In their analysis, researchers found five studies which indicated the positive effect of chocolates on heart diseases.
The researchers examined data of around 100,000 people who were fond of milk and dark chocolates, and those who preferred chocolate flavors in drinks, ice-cream, bars, biscuits, and desserts.
The study reveals that those chocolate addicts were at 29% low risk of suffering any stroke and were at 37% low risk of heart diseases, as compared to those who do not eat or eat rarely. Also, one of the study revealed that the risk of diabetics can also be reduced up to 31% by having lot of chocolates.
However, researchers concluded that with the benefits, chocolates hold the risk of obesity, as they are rich in calories and can disfigure the body mass index of a person. Chocolate holds around 500 calories in each piece or in every 100 grams and too much intake can result in weight gain.
