New Delhi, Oct 19 : One of the most popular pandals located at Chittaranjan Park, was gutted in a fire around 3.00 a.m. on Friday.

The fire took place at the Pocket 40 Navapalli puja also damaged neighbouring houses and cars.

Though there are no reports of casualties, some people who were inside the pandal at the time are said to be injured.

The fire took place on Saptami, which is the first day of the Durga Puja. The incident came on the eve of Ashtami which is the most important day of puja.

This is victory date for Durga - killing Mahishasura. On this day, prayers will be held in the morning and people keep fast till they offer flowers to Durga and pray for her blessings. (ANI)
