Chinese export rises 2.9 percent in NovemberExports from China recorded an increase of 2.9 percent during the month of November, which is much lower than analyst expected.

Experts say that the growth is mainly due to moderate increase in demand for exports and the effect of stimulus efforts from the Chinese government. The data released by the Customs Department on Monday showed that the exports from the country grew 2.9 percent compared to an analyst expectation of 9 percent in a Reuters survey.

Exports had grown 11.6 percent in October and 9.9 percent in September. The imports during the month of remained flat during the year earlier. The figures released recently shows that the Chinese economy is recording signs of recovery but considerable challenges remain in the near term.

The authorities in China have been aiming to boost growth through stimulus and reforms even as the global demand for its products remains low. The country's industrial production grew 10.1 percent and retail sales grew 14.9 percent during the month of November. The two figures are higher than those recorded in October and it indicates that the Chinese economy began its recovery.
