Change in BMW India’s driver seat
While the competition is the Indian luxury car is expected to go leaps and bounds in the coming years, BMW India has decided to announce a change in the driver's seat.
The German luxury car maker has recently announced that with effect from May this year, Andreas Schaaf, presently Vice-President in-charge of sales and marketing, BMW Group Korea, will be the new President of BMW India.
BMW India's Peter Kronschabl will move to Moscow as its new head of BMW's Russia operations. Notably, Kronschabl has done overwhelming work during his term as he took the company to the top spot in 2009 in the Indian luxury car market.
However, Kronschabl recently said at a press conference that he was still very much confident that the company will reach new heights in the Indian market as the fundamentals are very strong.
For the uninitiated, the company has set a target of 4,000 unit sales in the Indian market for 2010 and will also be starting its used-car arm very soon. Experts believe that it was Kronschabl's aggressiveness that has taken BMW to new heights in the Indian market and the automaker should be expecting to keep the dream run going in the future.
