CCEA gives nod to marketing support and services scheme for 11th plan
New Delhi, Dec 13: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for implementation of “Marketing Support and Services Scheme” for the 11th five year plan.
The scheme will comprise components of domestic and international marketing, and publicity during the 11th Plan (2007-2012) with budget provisions of Rs. 316.81 crore, said a government release.
It will also meet outstanding and committed liabilities under the old scheme of Marketing Support and Services including erstwhile Export Promotion Scheme implemented in the 10th Plan period.
Under this scheme, “handicrafts artisans will get enhanced opportunities for access to domestic as well as international high-end markets and various marketing channels. This will enable them to achieve full time employment, get better returns on their products, besides creating new opportunities for productive employment in rural areas, ” the release said. (ANI)
