Catherine Zeta Jones as Cleopatra

Catherine Zeta Jones as CleopatraCatherine Zeta Jones is in negotiations with director Steven Soderbergh over starring in his 3-D rock-musical extravaganza on the legendary Egyptian queen and her ill-starred love affair with Roman Marc Antony. Reportedly, Soderbergh would like Hugh Jackman to play Marc Antony to Zeta Jones Cleopatra.

A highly ambitious $30-million project, no doubt, 39-year-old Zeta-Jones will do the part justice having won an Oscar for portraying Velma Kelly in 2002’s dance musical ‘Chicago’, while Jackman won a Tony Award in 2004, for his performance as songwriter and performer - Peter Allen in Broadway’s The Boy From Oz.

Zeta-Jones ‘Rebound’, a comedy-romance about a single mom who has an affair with a much younger man is due to hit the big screen soon.
