Caretaker government installed to rig Pak polls: PTI
Lahore, Nov 19: Asserting that the caretaker government was unacceptable to the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), its acting chief Hamid Khan has said that the Muhammadmian Soomro led government has been installed to rig the general elections.
Addressing a press conference, Khan said that Senate Chairman Muhammadmian Soomro was a part of the rubberstamp government working under President General Pervez Musharraf and had provided legal cover to all undemocratic measures of the government.
He further said that under the cover of martial law, the government had installed puppets to achieve its desired results in the forthcoming polls.
Khan also condemned the government for massive crackdown on political workers while alleging the state had engineered repressive measures to instill fear in the people, The News reported.
He demanded that PTI Chairman Imran Khan, who has been shifted to DG Khan Prison, should be released immediately.
Commenting on the involvement of JI student wing in Imran’s arrest at the Punjab University, Khan demanded the JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed to uncover those behind this heinous act.
