According to the reports, Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials are warning consumers in Toronto there were separate food tampering cases involving sausage last month.

CFIA officials have said that the Toronto Police Service has been investigating food tampering cases involving Piller's Polish Sausage. After purchasing the product last month, a consumer located a needle embedded in a sausage.

It has been reported that two packages purchased at two separate Toronto No Frills stores had needles embedded in the sausage. In addition, a customer who purchased a Piller's Turkey Kielbasa package at the Price Chopper in Toronto discovered a needle embedded in the kielbasa.

A statement from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency says, "The public is requested to check the packaging of all food products thoroughly for signs of tampering. If you have reason to suspect that a meat product has been tampered with, you are requested to retain the product, packaging and any receipt.
