British Telecom announces to launch its new ‘Virtual Data Centre’ serviceThe telecommunication service provider of UK – British Telecom (BT) on Thursday announced that it will launch its new Virtual Data Centre (VDC) service in the next few months. BT reported that its VDC service is designed to help enterprises in the current economic scenario to guide them to future.  

In its statement, BT stated that with its VDC service, the large business and public sector organizations will be able to access cloud-based virtual server, storage, security and networking capabilities.

BT told that the VDC service, which was exhibited at the Handelsblatt Telecommunications Market Europe conference in Dusseldorf, German, will allow the enterprises to buy the virtualized components and get at them over a pre-provisioned infrastructure. The service will provide a dynamic and virtualized infrastructure platform forming the base for future cloud services.

According to BT, the VDC service will be focused on offering innovations in voice/unified communications, network services, security, mobility, data centers and contact centers infrastructure. The VDC service will be launched across several datacenters in various countries in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa).  

BT also declared that its further enhanced Global Services will be released later this year. The services will include a new global Manager Security Services platform, extensions to its global consultancy services for flexible working and mobile security, and greater geographic resilience for its contact centers.
