British art student creates invisible Skoda
Sara Watson, art student from the University of Central Lancashire, has played great trick on a battered Skoda Fabia to make the car invisible. Sounds unbelievable; isn’t it? Well, actually Watson has spray painted the battered Skoda Fabia cleverly to make the car merge with the surrounding car park, and this makes the car seemingly disappear.
The 22-year-old British design student, from Ashton under Lyne, has spray painted the car smartly to match with the car park and entrance to her art studio. She has succeeded in creating the illusion that the car is see through.
Watson worked for three weeks to morphs the car's look to create the illusion in the car park outside her studio at the university's Hanover Building in Preston. She was provided the car from a breakers yard. She painted the car perfectly to blend with its surroundings.
Miss Watson said, "I was experimenting with the whole concept of illusion but needed something a bit more physical to make a real impact. People have been stopping in the street to look and coming up and almost bumping into it, so it's had the desired effect."
"When I first saw the photos I was convinced it was something which had been done on the computer, but when you look more closely you see the effort and attention to detail she has put into it. It is just amazing," said Steve Jackson, owner of Recycling Lives, the firm that provided Miss Watson the car.
However, Watson’s trick works only when the car viewed from just the right angle. The local recycling firm Recycling Lives is currently using the car for advertising.
