Washington, July 11 : Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has reportedly gone on record to say that she had never imagined such a crushing defeat for Brazil in the FIFA World Cup 2014.
Host Brazil suffered a humiliating 7-1 defeat at the hands of Germany in the World Cup semifinal on Wednesday.
The President has for the first time reacted to the loss. According to the CNN, the Brazilian leader said that she was just as distressed as any other supporter of the team but stressed on the nation's peculiar ability to rise up to the occasion during difficult times.
Deliberating on the defeat meted out to Brazil by Germany, Roussef said that Neymar and Thiago Silva's absence did contribute to it, the report added.(ANI)
