Boston Scientific to move its headquarters to Marlboro

Boston Scientific to move its headquarters to MarlboroMedical devices giant, Boston Scientific Corp has said that it is moving its headquarters to Marlboro starting next spring.

The company is looking to shift its 800 jobs to the Marlboro campus with three buildings. The company had acquired the campus in 2004 while was in its expansion plans. Boston Scientific has been operating from -building campus between the Natick Mall and Lake Cochituate since 1995.

"Consolidating our facilities is expected to foster greater collaboration and efficiency, benefitting our employees, our customers and, ultimately, the patients they treat," said new CEO Mike Mahoney.

Boston Scientific will sell its Natick office complex to MathWorks, a fast growing software company that is aiming to double its office space in the Metrowest. Jeanne O'Keefe, MathWorks' finance chief said that the company is delighted at the opportunity to expand in such a renowned property that is situated close to its existing campus.

The moving of properties form one company to another is a win-win situation for both the areas as the new headquarters will create jobs for the local communities where they are located. Experts say that the companies continue to look at Marlboro as an optimal location for their operations.
