Bird Flu Outbreak causing Egg Shortage
Bird flu outbreak is significantly affecting the egg stock across the nation. Also, there are no signs that egg shortage will soon be covered, leading to higher prices across the country.
Fast food chains and other eating joints have been making efforts to conserve their stocks. H-E-B has asked customers to limit purchases to three cartons per visit. A spokesperson said that the main aim behind this move is to discourage people from buying eggs in large quantity.
Whataburger has decided to reduce its breakfast time from 5-11am to 5-9am on weekends. There are many who do not what to do in this situation. Joyce Flores, manager at Ol' South Pancake House in Fort Worth, said that they have no idea what they will do, but is sure that they will disappoint many people.
Rob Cunningham with Coyote Creek Organic Farm shared that some people called the farm to ensure that they will get the eggs and it has been assured that they will be getting them. He said that the flock is doing fine and the eggs will be delivered on time.
Kerbey Lane Vafe has increased the price of eggs by 17% and Torchy's Tacos has started to levy limit on egg orders.
As per the USDA, more than 30 million chickens have been affected owing to which a rise in price of eggs has been seen.
