Bharti Airtel Tops Most Congested Network List, Says TRAI

According to the most recent network congestion report published by TRAI for the April-June Bharti Airtel Tops Most Congested Network List, Says TRAIquarter, India’s largest telecom services provider Bharti Airtel topped the list of most congested network followed by close competitor RCom.

Bharti Airtel was on top with 56 Point of Interconnection (PoIs) having congestion. It was followed by Reliance Communications (22 PoIs), Dishnet Wireless (21 PoIs as of March), Vodafone (19 PoIs of March) and Idea (19 PoIs).

With the intention to guarantee faultless interconnectivity, TRAI has been monitoring the congestion level at the point of interconnection between different service providers on a monthly basis.

This parameter shows the ease with which a client of one network is capable of communicating with a customer of different network. This parameter also signifies as to how effectual is the interconnection between the two networks.

The number of PoIs having congestion declined from 275 during March to 156 in June. Out of these 156 POIs, the congestion level in 86 POIs is over 5% as against 141 PoIs during March.

The circles/ states more affected because of PoI congestion includes Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Haryana, North Eastern states and Himachal Pradesh.
