Bharti Airtel first quarter net profit falls 32%

Bharti-AirtelIndia's top mobile operator Bharti Airtel has announced its financial results for first quarter of the fiscal year 2010-11. The company has informed that, in this reviewed quarter there has been a decline in its net profit figures as compared to last year's report.

The quarterly profit has fallen by 32% in the June quarter of the current year against its like period a year ago.

The net profit of the firm was reported to be Rs 1682 crore for the first quarter of the current year. For the same period of time, the net profit of the firm was Rs 2475 crore in the previous year.

However, the total revenue of Bharti has increased to Rs 12231 crore in the first quarter of the year as compared to revenue of Rs 10414 crore in its corresponding quarter in the preceding financial year.

Bharti is number one telecom operator of the country with about 137 million users in India which holds almost 21% of the market share. It also has its operation in countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
