Bajaj Auto Sales’ Record 6% Growth In Sep 08

Auto giant Bajaj Auto has recorded a growth of 6% (in total), in the two and three Bajaj Auto Sales’ Record 6% Growth In Sep 08 wheelers sales for the month ended September 30, 2008.

During the month, the company sold 217,365 units of Motorcycles as compared to 204,152 units during the corresponding period of the last year (Sep 2007). 

The company’s two wheelers sales for the month stood at 218,494 units in comparison to 206,208 units recorded in September 2007.

The company’s 3 wheeler sector has witnessed a flat growth of only 2% to 26,887 in Sep 08, as against 26,288 in the previous year for the same month.

During Sep 08, the company has recorded a substantial increase in its monthly exports, which surged 43% to 68,572 units as against 48,048 units in Sept'07.

The Bajaj 125cc DTS-Si platform consisting of the XCD 125 DTS-Si and the Platina 125 DTS-Si recorded 39,955 units with the Platina 125 DTS-Si contributing 11,991 units during the first month of its launch.

Bajaj expects to meet up its goal of 75,000 units/ month with the launching of the fourth new motorcycle from this platform during December 2008.

The company also said that the exports remained strong but growth in commercial vehicles was slow.

At 1.44 p.m., shares of the company gained 1.9% to trade at Rs 610.30 as 3,661 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
