Vienna - On the Vienna stock exchange, the main ATX index jumped on the news from the United States that it was bailing out mortgage lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, standing 4.48 per cent higher after one hour of trading Monday morning.

The index was pushed by Erste Group Bank AG, which gained 9.47 per cent, and Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding AG, which gained 8.14 per cent. (dpa)
