Sydney, Nov 25 : Australia's new Prime Minister-elect Kevin Rudd who led his Labor party to a convincing victory has outlined his soon-to-be-sworn-in-government's agenda for the next 100 days that will focus mainly on necessary administrative arrangements and on the issue of Climate Change.

"You will see us methodically work through our program for government," Rudd responded when asked about his plans for the next 100 days.

"The plans we put forward for the future are detailed if you look at what we've advanced in terms of education, hospitals and climate change and water as well as our proposals on industrial relations," he added.

Stating that there would be a substantive agenda of work, Rudd said that as a first step he would meet with the secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Peter Shergold, on Sunday afternoon and discuss about next month's climate conference in Bali.

During his campaign trail, Rudd had promised to sign the Kyoto protocol on Climate Change.
 
"I'll also be discussing with Dr Shergold the normal administrative arrangements concerning the administrative orders which would affect any incoming government," news.com.au quoted Rudd, as saying.

The 50-year-old former diplomat gave a huge blow to the outgoing Prime Minister John Howard by sweeping the polls and thereby bringing a humiliating end to the coalition's 11 years of rule.
 
The Liberal Party leader, Howard, even faces possibility of losing his own seat to Labor's Maxine McKew, who once worked in London as a BBC typist.

Meanwhile, Rudd, who presented himself in the mould of a new generation leader and has promised to withdraw Australian troops out of Iraq, will be choosing his new cabinet on Thursday.

"Today Australia has looked to the future. Today the Australian people have decided that we as a nation will move forward ... to embrace the future, together to write a new page in our nation's history," Rudd said just after winning the polls. (ANI)
