Asus plans to sell 20,000 to 30,000 laptops every month in India
Recently, Taiwan based Asus revealed its plans to sell 20,000 to 30,000 laptop computers and netbooks every month in India. Other than this, the company is also conceptualizing on making rapid inroads into India, as Asus views India as one of the key emerging global markets for its products.
“Blazing the trail for Asus in India will be its EeePC line, which sparked the demand for netbooks worldwide and of which more than two million sets have been sold upon its launch in October 2007,” said Asus corporate vice-president, Benson CL Lin.
He added, “The scope of growth for notebooks is demonstrated by these numbers. However, to be among the top three laptop and netbook sellers in India calls for a strategy. Towards this, we are expanding our service centre network to 10, from the present seven.”
