Arvind Adiga’s Second Novel Nearing Completion
Arvind Adiga, who recently won the prestigious Booker prize for his debut novel ‘The White Tiger’, is on a roll as he declared that his second novel is nearing completion.
But Adiga, who is 33 years old, didn’t disclose any further details about his upcoming book.
He said, “I like books that have ideas in them and that move and that entertain.”
‘The White Tiger’ is a supreme page turner, highly original in presenting ‘the dark side of India’.
The novel said that India needs to sort out issues of disparity before it appears as the next powerhouse.
The 33-year-old Indian-born writer became the youngest and only the third debutante novelist author to win the coveted 50,000 pounds prize.
Michael Portillo, the chairman of the judges was all praise for the book, “In many ways it was the perfect novel.”
“My criteria were ‘Does it knock my socks off?’ and this one did ... the others impressed me ... this one knocked my socks off.”
With something like ‘The White Tiger’ new in readers’ memories, they can’t wait for Arvind’s second novel to release.
