Antioxidants keep arteries fit
Antioxidants tend to have healthy effect on sugar and fat metabolism that ultimately results in blood pressure regulation and at the same time provides arterial flexibility in patients with multiple cardiovascular risk factors.
According to Reuben Zimlichman, from Wolfson Medical Center the antioxidant supplementation rose to significant levels when the small artery in patients with multiple cardiovascular risks. This affect multiplies with an improvement in glucose and lipid metabolism at the same time with decrease in blood pressure.
Zimlichman and colleagues found that the cases who took the antioxidants showed more elastic arteries and better blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
This in association with the findings of the present studies helps in finding the total clinical impact of antioxidant treatment in patients.
The study has found place in the journal Nutrition and Metabolism.
