Android platform soars up the graphAndroid smartphone which is witnessing a surge in the mobile usage has become popular, as the advertising company Ad Mob suggests.

Although the strong contenders are iPhone and iPod Touch which still are leading the internet enabled smart devices segment. It is believed that the smartphone devices contributed a 48 percent of its traffic, a sharp increase from the 35 percent recorded 2009.

It is believed that much of this hype is credited to the Google which has its own Android mobile OS.

The data of AdMob states that in the US smartphone market, iPhone has ruled with a massive share of 44.5 percent which was followed by Motorola Droid with 15.2 percent and HTC Dream who takes the third position with 3.3 percent, both of them running on Android platform.

It appears to be logical why Apple is the undisputed leader of smartphone industry but is clear that the Android platform is surging leaps and bounds.
