Amazon’s MP3 Affiliate Program Pays Up 4X The ITunes Rate
, the online retail giant has unveiled a new affiliate program, which allows partakers earn transfer fees for purchases at its MP3 store, offering music bloggers one more prospective income stream.
To set up connections, participants have to sign up for Amazon’s affiliate program, and then decide ‘MP3 Downloads’ from the search bar and look for the song they want to connect. Or, they can add up a general Amazon MP3 banner, rather than linking to individual songs.
Each time the person tracks the connection and buys the MP3 from Amazon, the referrer receives 20 percent of what they use up (spend), with a limit of $1.50 per deal. After January 1, 2008, that proportion will go down to 10%.
The company says that they have more than 2 million MP3s for sale on the site, most of which cost $0.89 per piece, or $6-$10 for the majority of albums, and all of the songs are programmed at 256 Kbps.
Apple’s DRM-Free iTunes Plus music store also has more than 2 million insecure tracks for sale, but Apple's affiliate program only pays up 5 percent.
If you've been in search of a means to get some bucks on the side whilst writing about music, Amazon’s MP3 referral system could attach another trickle to your income stream, particularly if you get a move on eventually to make the most of the 20% rate.
