All-party meet on Lokpal Bill today
New Delhi, Aug 24 : The government has convened an all-party meeting on Wednesday to find a way to solve differences over the Lokpal Bill.
Leaders of all political parties have been invited to attend the meeting scheduled for 3.30 p. m.
In related development, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh late on Tuesday night held discussions with his top ministers during Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) meeting.
Dr. Singh convened the emergency CCPA meeting soon after Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee held three-hour long discussions with social activist Anna Hazare''s key aides on the Lokpal issue.
During the government-Hazare team meeting, the civil society activists insisted that the Jan Lokpal Bill should be passed by Parliament, without referring to Standing Committee, in this session, even if means extending the session by a few days. (ANI)
