All Bangalore ATMs must have full security by Monday 4 pm: policeNo state-run or private bank across Bangalore would be able to make any transaction from their ATMs after Monday 4 pm if they do not deploy full security at their ATM kiosks, the Bangalore Police declared on Thursday.

All banks in the city have been ordered to provide full security at their ATM kiosks in wake of a brutal attack on a woman in an unguarded ATM kiosk earlier this week.

Apart from deploying 24-hour security guards at their ATMs, banks will also have to install closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras and a burglary alarm. The police have set a deadline of November 24 for all that.

Speaking to reporters, Police Commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar said, "We have set November 24, 4 pm as deadline for all state-run and private banks to deploy 24-hour security guards . CCTV cameras inside and outside kiosks and a burglary alarm."

The Police Commissioner warned that in case any ATM is found without the ordered arrangements then its ATM would be shut. He underlined that many ATMs in new residential areas and the city's outskirts were operating without required security.

Meanwhile, Jyothi Uday, who received severe injuries on her head, face and nose when the assailant attacked her with a machete on Tuesday this week in an unguarded ATM, is recovering in a private hospital in the city. The Assailant is still at large.
