Alejandro Aravena designs Minimal Chair

Alejandro-AravenaDesigner Alejandro Aravena has designed a strap called the 'Chairless' which is possibly the most minimal chair in the world.

The chair is designed for Vitra, a Furniture company based in Germany. The chairless is inspired from a strap used by Ayoreo Indians to wrap around their knees and back to sit in a stable position.

The strap is suitable for world travelers who sometimes require some sitting time. When not in use the chairless can be folded to fit a pocket.

The question whether the chailess is comfortable to sit on is better answered with the perception of comfort itself. It allows users to strap around they body and sit in a position that could resemble a Yoga position.

Vitra has not yet disclosed any information about the pricing of the chairless.
