At last, the launching date of the much-awaited 3G iPhone in the Indian market has been declared.
The two leading Indian telecom operators Bharti Airtel and Vodafone will be launching this hugely successful instrument on August 22.
President Bharti Airtel mobile services Sanjay Kapoor said, “iPhone has been an iconic technological revelation of this year and Airtel has been at the forefront of innovation and customer delight in the Indian telecom sector.”
Previously, it was reported that only Airtel will be launching the service. But later on it has been confirmed that even Vodafone will be selling iPhones in India from the same date.
Industry experts think that such a distributorship of the iPhone to two different carriers in the same country is very much unlike Apple.
Moreover, Vodafone and Bharti Airtel had opened online bookings for Indian customers so that they can easily book the most awaited product 3G iPhone in advance.
The iPhone will provide 3G services that are likely to be twice as speedier as 2G services. The pricing details for the phone in India have not yet been disclosed. A 3G phone is expected to be sold at about Rs 20,000
The 3G iPhone features the speedy 3G network connectivity, which is double the speed of the previous iPhone.
Moreover, its touch-screen feature has achieved a cult status that’s why users throughout the world are eagerly waiting for the 3G iPhone’s launch in their own countries.
It seems that the phone had already hit the 1 million sold mark in just 3 days of its launch in other parts of the world in the month of June.
