After Scarlett Keeling, police uncover another tourist's murder in Goa
Panjim, Mar 12 : Even as the controversy over the mysterious murder of a British teenage girl fails to die down, police have uncovered another body of a tourist in Goa, officials said on Wednesday.
Authorities found the body of a 23-year-old woman at a hotel room here on Tuesday.
Kishan Kumar, Inspector General of Police said that investigations have revealed that the woman who checked into the hotel with a man on Sunday, was allegedly strangled by her companion.
Kumar however added that they have no leads on the accused, as the details provided by him to the hotel are fake.
The woman's body was found with injury marks on her neck reportedly caused by a four metre long nylon robe which was found in the room.
Kumar said that he has written a letter to the government appealing that it be made compulsory for hotels to collect and check details and photo-identities of their guests for the security of tourists visiting here.
Earlier on February 18, the body of a 15-year old Bristish girl Scarlett Keeling was found on a beach in Goa.
Police said that Keeling had drowned after taking drugs, but changed their story after Keeling's mother complained and a second autopsy suggested she had been raped and murdered. (ANI)
