Yet another South Indian actor has made it big. One of the top actresses in south Indian cinema, Trisha is all set to make her mark in Bollywood.

Trisha has signed a film opposite the strong hunk ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar.

This film tentatively titled ‘Khatta Meeta’ will be directed by Priyadarshan.

Trisha is a well-known, award-winning actress in both Tamil and Telugu film industries.

She rose to fame in the Tamil industry with her roles in movies, Saamy and Ghilli and the Telugu industry with her movie, Varsham.

The 26 year old actor has featured opposite all top heroes except seniors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan.

It should be noted here that it was Priyadarshan, who had introduced Trisha seven years back with Lesa Lesa in Tamil.

Confirming the development, an elated Trisha said: “A lot of offers were coming my way, but I was waiting for the right film and I could not say ‘No’ to Priyan who is my mentor of sorts. I respect him as a film maker and he is also a good family friend. I don’t intend to move to Bollywood, but is definitely game to give it a try.”

Film director Priyadharshan said: “Trisha is playing the heroine opposite Akshay Kumar in this film. Akshay was keen on doing the film with a new face, that too from south and after seeing Trisha’s performance in a few South Indian movies, Trisha has become his only choice..."

According to grapevine, Akshay Kumar was highly impressed watching Trisha’s performance in Telugu and Tamil films on DVDs. Moreover, it is also learnt that the beautiful actress from South India has signed a three-film deal with Akshay Kumar’s Hari Om production company.

The shooting of the film is expected to begin by November this year.
