9 more U.S. airports to receive body scanners soon

Body-ScannerAccording to the Transportation Security Administration, the technology is on a high these days as the U. S. airports tightens the security measures to detect disguised terror in form of lethal weapons.

The authorities have decided to take such steps to detect hidden explosives and contraband amid in the airports. Because according to the intelligence, there have been serious threats of explosions in US airports. This initiative from the TSA will undoubtedly make the airports lot safer.

Lee Kair, TSA security director has informed to the media that units will be fielded in the coming months at various major airports of different cities of the country. These cities will be Charlotte, Cincinnati, Columbus, Ohio, Fort Lauderdale, Kansas City, and in California at San Diego, Los Angeles, Oakland and San Jose.

There are 150 machines in total out of which 40 are operational at 19 different airports. The machines were bought from the federal stimulus package, nodded by the President Obama.
