Transcend has launched its first portable CD/DVD writer for laptops and netbooks.

The new 8X slim portable CD/DVD writer has been designed to work with both existing and forthcoming systems.

In an ultra-thin, smooth design, the new CD/DVD writer can easily be carried from one place to another.

The CD/DVD writer, which is completely USB powered, requires no external power adapter.

The CD/DVD writer comes with a full-featured copy of the media writing software CyberLink Power2Go.

The users can do all kinds of writing and editing on CDs and DVDs with the help of software tools. Moreover, they can also place and compile the media files with an easy software interface.

The newly launched writer is compatible with the newest Windows 7 operating system plus upcoming OS. It also backs up both 8X DVD and 24X CD write speeds and features the most recent dual layer recordable DVD media formats.

With a two-year warranty, the new CD/ DVD Writer is available at a price of Rs 4,300.
