T-Mobile’s unlimited 4G data plan to be available for $70 a month, with no annual contractIn a highly noteworthy announcement made at the CES 2103, T-0Mobile USA revealed that, from Wednesday, January 8, onwards, the carrier's popular Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan will be available as a no-contract plan.

According to the T-Mobile announcement, the carrier will start offering its Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan for a $70 monthly charge, without any annual contract, from Wednesday.

With the Unlimited Nationwide 4G data plan - which was launched by T-Mobile last September - already having attracted almost 46 percent of new subscribers in December alone, the no-contract 4G data plan will definitely be all the more appealing; and will apparently help the fourth-ranking US carrier stand apart from bigger rivals like Verizon Wireless and AT&T.

About the increasing popularity of T-Mobile's unlimited data plans, the carrier's Chief Technology Officer Neville Ray said that nearly 1.9 million iPhone owners have already joined T-Mobile to benefit from unlimited data plans, although the carrier does not presently sell the iPhone.

Noting that the new no-annual-contract data plan will chiefly address customers' frustrations with the complexity of post-paid plans which lock them with a two-year contract, T-Mobile CEO John Legere said: "Our Unlimited 4G data plans means 4G speeds, no caps and no overages on what [is a] smoking-fast, nationwide 4G network. This is the start of somebody listening to customers."
