 Team India beats Leicestershire by 15 runs in T20 practice matchLeicester (UK), Aug 30 : Indian cricket team on Monday beat Leicestershire by 15 runs in the last practice T20 match at Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

Put to bat first, the visitors managed to score a decent 161 runs after losing five wickets and later restricted Leicestershire Foxes to 146.

Parthiv Patel who was included in the side in place of M. S. Dhoni was the top-scorer (40 off 31 balls).

Rahul Dravid came in to bat at number three and scored 29 off 31 balls but it was Rohit Sharma (29) and Suresh Raina (21) who helped India finish the innings on a high.

Leicestershire did not begin well in reply, losing opener Joshua Cobb to Indian pacer Praveen Kumar early in the innings. Andrew McDonald fought his way to a 34-ball 44 run innings.

Vinay Kumar first took the wicket of McDonald and then added two more to his tally to help his side get a comfortable win.

Amit Mishra took two wickets while R. Ashwin managed to get one.

The team''s morale would definitely be boosted by the performance of the younger players in the team, which was recently whitewashed by England 4-0 in the recently concluded test series.

The Indian cricketers will be hoping to keep up their winning streak in the upcoming one-day series against England. The one-day series begins from September 3 and will end on the 16th.

India will be playing a single T20 match and five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against England during the tour. (ANI)
