Suicide charity criticizes Lady Gaga for gory MTV performance

Suicide charity criticizes Lady Gaga for gory MTV performanceWashington, Sept 17 : Anti-suicide advocates have criticized pop star Lady Gaga’s performance at MTV Video Music Awards for "romanticising suicide".

While performing on song Paparazzi, the 23-year-old singer stunned the audience with her bizarre performance, where she danced with crutches alongside a wheelchair-bound performer, while blood poured down her bare mid-riff.

She later said that her act represented her private life being killed by the paparazzi.

However, bosses at the U. K. teen suicide prevention group, Papyrus, were infuriated at branded the star "irresponsible".

"This act is not cool - sensationalising and romanticising suicide is irresponsible,” Contactmusic quoted a representative for the charity as saying.

"Celebrities, who are often idolised by young people, need to be more aware of the impact that such acts can have on vulnerable young people," the rep added. (ANI)
