SP, RJD should not be part of UPA Govt: Rajeev Shukla

UPA Jharkhand seat sharing talks close to finalisationNew Delhi, May 17 : Senior Congress leader Rajeev Shukla on Sunday said that the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), which had not contested with the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), should not be part of the next government.

"The SP and the RJD, which had contested on their own, should not be part of the next government. The fact remains both Lalu Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav are not the core allies of Congress. They have not contested with us. They contested on their own and Congress contested on its own in both the states," Shukla said.

Shukla further said the small groups and independents, which fought the elections with the Congress, would remain intact.

"There are lot many small groups, independents who are available. They are more than willing to support the next government," he added.

He, however, said that this was his personal opinion and the final decision on alliance will be taken by the party high command. (ANI)
