Islamabad, Sep. 8 : Former Pakistan Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif has said the country needs a revolution and mass agitation to address the challenges it is facing currently.

Addressing the members of the PML-N’s Central Executive Committee and other party workers, Sharif said the PML-N has no intention to destabilize the present democratic set-up in the country.

“The masses demonstrated their power by coming out on the roads to ensure the restoration of the sacked judiciary and it seems that in the future, the other challenges of the country could not be addressed without the demonstration of power by the masses,” Sharif said.

He said the PML-N’s struggle was to strengthen the democratic order rather than helping a particular political party to grab power.

“We are not helping any specific political party. Rather we are cooperating in strengthening the democratic system in the country,” The Nation quoted Sharif, as saying.

He said the PML-N would never compromise on its values and principles to come to power.

“PML-N did not aim its politics for power and authority but wanted politics for values and democratic norms and would not compromise on its principled stance to gain authority. PML-N has initiated its passage with a new resolve,” Sharif added. (ANI)
