Robert Vadra should apologise for 'banana republic' FB post: IAC

Robert Vadra should apologise for 'banana republic' FB post: IACIndia Against Corruption (IAC) activist Arvind Kejriwal has Robert Vadra to apologise for allegedly insulting Indians by calling India `banana republic'.

Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, posted a new Facebook status reading, 'Mango people in banana republic'.

Kejriwal's associate Kumar Vishwas said, "He insulted our country because he is related with the most arrogant family - the Gandhi family. He should apologise before the nation."

Earlier, Kejriwal and Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan accused Vadra of financial impropriety. Vadra dismissed the duo's allegations as baseless as well as defamatory.

Vadra defended himself saying that he revealed all his business transactions in financial statements filed with appropriate government authorities. He claimed that he was a private law abiding citizen, and accused Kejriwal and Bhushan of manufacturing lies to malign him and his family to gain cheap publicity.

Vadra accused Kejriwal of misrepresenting numbers in his financial statements, to which the IAC member responded that he was ready to face trial over the issue.

Last Friday, Kejriwal addressed a press conference in New Delhi alleging that construction giant DLF gave an unsecured and interest-free loan worth around Rs 65 crore to some companies owned by Vadra.
